The Lancashire Suite is painted in a traditional cool deep tone of blue green which wraps around you as you enter. The feature in this suite is the incredible Lancashire whirlpool tub for which the suite is named. The tub is designed to be a two person tub that also includes footrests and a waterfall faucet, clearly the finest tub in the house. The room houses a beautiful, dark mahogany, four poster, king-sized bed. Also in the Lancashire suite the guests will enjoy an intimate dining area and a large sleeper love seat that makes a bed. A private pot of coffee may be provided for this room on request. The Lancashire suite has a full view of the front lawns and lawn games.
History of the British Empire, its monarchs, and colorful past has long held a captivating interest for our family. So much so that at one point we all thought about enrolling together in a course on British History. We never did!
The Lancashire Suite is reminiscent in its style of old English décor. The choice of colors of both the walls and furniture strike a cord of the stately furnishings in an English Manor. The theme is further carried out in the European bath that is available. The tub that allows two people to face each other and features a European showerhead is named the Lancashire tub.
The Lancashire Suite will be the home of British authors and history books that reflect this culture. The carolers that you find on the Queen Ann end table are a part of the Byers’ collection that features Charles Dickens’ characters from A Christmas Carol. Guests may view the characters that are released annually in the curio at the entry to the CharlieHorse Parlor. Each of the carolers found there were released for only one year. They will not be made again. The ones you see in this suite are apart of the more general community of carolers that may be purchased year round.
The picture of the young girl that hangs in the alcove was purchased for our daughter-in-law, Paige, because it looks so much like her at that age. The mannerisms of the child in this picture sometimes remind me of Colin. (Paige is Colin’s mother)
