Artist's Statement

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, there has been a passion in my heart for the arts since I began studying ballet at the age of five.  Drawing and painting became a hobby with me when I was very young and I have been experimenting with different mediums ever since.

I find that I can best express myself with watercolours being drawn to the mood altering effects they create.  Always evolving, I am currently working with a technique that conveys figures in a one dimensional, flat surface.

Mostly my paintings celebrate the female figure in all of her sizes and moods.  The paintings consist of acrylics, pen and ink, and chalk on heavy watercolour paper.  Completed paintings are mounted on black wood panels.  I occasionally incorporate fabric and gold leaf to create a collage effect.

God has blessed me with many artistic talents including clay and jewelry making.

I currently reside in Mulga, Alabama with my husband John.
